Our standards

What we will and will not do

Brand voice is cheap. These are the specific commitments behind it, written so you can hold us to them.

What we promise

  • Every specification is traceable. Each figure on a TENON product page comes from the manufacturer's own specification sheet for that exact model, and we will tell you which one if you ask. We do not round, re-badge or improve a number on its way onto the page.
  • Where the source contradicts itself, we say so. Manufacturers' documents are not always internally consistent. When a model's stated total does not reconcile with its own itemised list, we print that on the product page and leave the number out until it is corrected in writing. You will find this on two of our pages right now.
  • We do not claim certification we cannot document. A logo printed on a carton is not a certificate. Until we hold the certificate and can match it to the model, no certification claim appears on the page.
  • We check before we ship. Every unit is opened and checked against the specification on its page before it leaves Shenzhen.
  • We tell you about duty before you pay, not after. An unexpected customs bill on the doorstep is a broken promise, not a surprise.
  • If a product fails, we fix it. Faulty, damaged or wrong on arrival: we pay the return postage and you choose a replacement or a full refund. Twelve months against defects in materials and workmanship.
  • A human answers the email. One business day, Monday to Friday. Not a bot, not a queue.

What we will not do

  • Countdown timers that reset. If a sale has an end date, it ends.
  • Reviews we did not receive. We have none yet. We would rather show none than invent any.
  • Discounts measured against a price nobody paid. No inflated compare-at prices.
  • Stock counters we cannot substantiate. "Only 3 left" is a lie in most stores that print it.
  • Photographs of a product you will not receive. No renders of features the item does not have, and no competitor's photography.
  • Anonymity. Our company name, registration number and registered address are on the About page. A store that hides who is behind it is telling you something.

How we choose what to sell

A product has to pass four tests before it goes on the site:

  1. We would use it ourselves. On our own bench, not in a photograph.
  2. Its specification can be stated honestly. If the only interesting claim about a product is one we cannot document, the product is not interesting.
  3. It can be shipped lawfully to you. We have deliberately left powered, lithium-cell tools off this store until the battery documentation and an approved carrier are in place. Air freight rules on lithium cells are not optional, and we would rather sell you a manual tool today than take your money for a parcel that gets stopped.
  4. It belongs to our categories. Precision repair and ratchet assembly. A good product outside those does not get listed just because it is a good product.

That list excludes a lot. It is meant to.
